#GAiN18: Mission First

As Seventh-day Adventists, we believe our mission is to reach every human being on the face of the Earth. When we look at the world and contemplate the seemingly impossible task God has given us, it is easy to despair or ignore the mandate.

It is clear we must unite as a church to communicate our valuable message. This is only possible by effectively maneuvering within the digital landscape. Therefore, we believe #GAIN18 has the singular purpose of inspiring every communicator, technician, and administrator to give our mission the greatest priority.

This year GAIN will be held alongside the International Mission Congress, organized by the Northern Asia-Pacific Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. 4,000 missionaries and gospel workers from China, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, Mongolia, Taiwan, and Korea will come to Seoul, South Korea, to share stories and experiences of God’s grace in their mission fields. In the evening, GAiN participants will join with these missionaries from all over the world to experience powerful presentations that bring the mission of the Adventist Church to life. We believe these two events will inspire you to heed Christ’s call to reach the world – MISSION FIRST

News Summit

A new addition to the GAiN pre-meeting line-up, the News Summit aims to bring Adventist journalists and communicators together to discuss new software, global initiatives, and trends –all in the area of news. Our goal is to create a global network to make the Adventist Church the largest news agency in the world.

IT & Membership Meetings

IT Meetings and Membership Software Conference will NOT take place this year during GAiN2018. However, they will be back next year, #GAIN19 in Jordan (February 2019)


  • August 7, 2018: News Summit
  • August 8-12, 2018: GAiN
  • August 13-16, 2018: Hope Channel Meetings

Note: There will be no Membership Software or IT Meetings at the 2018 conference. Those will be held in February 2019.

Travel, Arrival, and Departure Information

Transport will be provided from Seoul Incheon Airport (ICN) to the Grand Hilton Hotel on Monday and Tuesday, August 6-7, 2018.

You will need to arrive at your hotel on Tuesday, August 7th. Registration will take place on Tuesday evening in the hotel lobby from 7-9pm.

#GAIN18 starts at 9:00 am on Wednesday morning.

Tour: Our special trip will be on Sunday, August 12. It will be a unforgettable experience into the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and tunnels between South and North Korea.

Transport will be provided from the Grand Hilton Hotel to the airport only on Sunday and Monday, August 12-13, 2018.


Meetings will be held at the KINTEX Exhibition Hall in Seoul, Korea.

Individual Tickets

The cost includes transport, IMC & GAIN registration, hotel and meals. You can also purchase a ticket to the News Summit. The registration to the news summit includes an extra day of hotel, transport and meals. The currency is US Dollars.

Division/Union Delegations

Can I pay in cash for my hotel?

No. Your hotel cost will be paid when you register.

What if I'm sharing a room?

If you are sharing a room with family or a colleague, please buy one companion ticket for every person attending with you. Please remember – your room, registrations, meals and transportation will not be reserved unless at least one person per room has purchased a full ticket.

Do I qualify for a discount?

To qualify for the discount you will need to contact your division communication department. Once we receive an email from your division treasurer authorizing the charge, we will issue a code you can then use to register online. The prices are as follows:

  • Single occupancy room: $840 per person (with $50 discount per person)
  • Double occupancy room: $520 per person (with $50 discount per person)

What is included with #GAiN18 ticket?

  1. GAiN registration fee.
  2. International Mission Congress (ICM) registration fee. ICM is organized by the Northern-Asia Pacific Division.
  3. Arrival ground transportation from the ICN Airport to the Hilton Hotel. Only available to those arriving August 6 or 7.
  4. Departure ground transportation from the Hilton Hotel to ICN Airport. Only available to those leaving August 13.
  5. Daily ground transportation from the Hilton Hotel to the KINTEX Convention Center, where #GAiN18 and ICM will take place.
  6. Meals:
    • Breakfast: August 8 to 13
    • Lunch: August 8-12
    • Dinner: August 8-11

What are the bus times?

  • Hilton hotel to KINTEX: 8:00am daily.
  • KINTEX to Hilton hotel: 9:00pm daily.
  • Cultural visit: August 12, 8:30am

If I arrive on August 8 or 9, is there ground transportation Airport – Hotel? How about if I want to depart before August 13?

No (see above). Please note that taxis, buses and other forms of public transportation do not have English instructions.

Is there a refund if I arrive on August 8 or 9?

No. In order to secure the low price of the event, we secured a group rate for a set number of nights.
